I have one of the earliest PS2's that I could buy. I have a Sony TV, a Sony camcorder. None have given me problems. And I think the connections on the PS3 are quite good. I can't think of anything I'd need that it doesn't provide. Same goes for the PS2 for that matter. (When it comes to AV connections - it could have used another two controller ports.)

Ps3 blog...hmmm. Well, today's ramdacs have no fear even with 1080P. No issue. While HDMI on the xBox360 would simplify matters, it's really not needed. the component Y-Pb-Pr output has the bandwidth to handle what we will be seeing for the next few years. DVI and HDMI have their own advantages but not everyone can benefit. While I can use the digital interfaces, I don't think they have any discernable advantage over analog at this time. Another Sony "sales" pitch. Hype is hype. I tend to believe what the 360 will deliver. Take this one for matter...people will be buying the original xBoxes for quite some time. In fact, we dumped 3 PS2s over the last year, two of them dead. They were nagging trash, wouldn't run certain DVDs, and lacked any connectivity that made sense. I expect the PS3 to follow suit. I would buy a Nintendo Revolution, but not a PS3 and this is solely based on the PS2s prior performance. It's not that I dislike Sony...it's that I know better.
