Yup, that's a lot of news to cover for 1 day, especially going from ps3 rumours, to facts straight from Sony. This article is good too. It talks about teh digital distribution of games:

"Microsoft claimed to sell 1.5 million units worldwide with NPD estimating lower"

Sorry, I forgot t to add this was for calendar 2005 (they've obviously sold a lot more since then). If PS3 had 6 million for calendar 2006, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as the 360 shortage of 2005. But if the PS3 doesn't make 6 million units until 3/07, and has a strong game lineup in 2006 (more demand), there probably will be a big shortage.

Apparently, 6 million units for fiscal 2006 which ends in March 2007. That's not nearly as nice as 6 million by the end of 12/2006.

Wow! Real news! Awesome coverage Henning!

Assuming they can make their target, six million units isn't too bad. Microsoft claimed to sell 1.5 million units worldwide with NPD estimating lower. I'm sure supply will be tight but it won't be as bad as the 360 if they do deliver four times the supply.

Final PS3 dev kits in June? I thought that dev kits like that don't ever go "final". They hit version 1.0, but until the PS3 is at the end of its life cycle, they constantly update the dev kit: improving, polishing, fixing bugs, adding features, etc.
