Black guy its this way after launch has to do greatly in part to the fact that they messed up the launch by with there shortage and there system problems (Overheating and Crashing) Add to that the fact that they still havent ironed out production still not producing enough. This is what they wanted why they rushed to launched 1st . The way they're going though they're loosin the advantage they claimed will be key to topplin Sony. Alot of the people that are still tryin to get a XBox360 are the people who wanted at launch. It's 5 months after now there shortage issues should've been addressed by now. But as Mr. Harrison said "We also control most of the manufacturing & production for the hardware ourselves, whereas Microsoft conveniently controls none of it - they don’t manufacture any of their components themselves, & that makes a huge difference." They have way too many loose ends to truly take advantage of the 1year lead and it's becoming painfully clear that time is waisting on there part. The Revolution and PS3 launches are closer and closer and they still have way too many fans gettin restless thats not good for business when you concider what Nintendo and Sony are promising fan if they wait just a few months more.

Great article, I agree a lot of people like to think that Xbox 360 was a failure, but that is not true. The facts are that the console are selling and that they will continue to sell. How good the PS3 is will determine is Xbox 360 will continue to enjoy their sales.

We wont be able to gauge the console war outcome until this time next year.

Black Guy:

I don't know about XBOX or XBOX 360 region free. Not trying to bash MS or anything, but they certainly get the wrong idea of making the consoles region free to me.

PSP and DS have the right idea. Even though UMD has a similar region coding to DVD, none of the games (even the sensitive ones like Super Robot War MX) is region locked. I haven't found a single PSP games that are locked so far. On ther other hand, all the Japan made games on the 360 are region locked. That's just stupid in my opinion

I am expecting when Sony say "region free" for PS3. They mean it will be similar to the PSP's system. If Sony end up doing it the way MS does it, they are both equally stupid.

By this gen I'm referring to PS2, Xbox & what I meant was I wish that PS2 games had multiple languages on one disc so we didn't have to wait months before we got our hands on Japanese games.

Personally iDon't think MS made such a HUGE mistake going w/ a worldwide launch. What many didn't expect, includ'n MS, was the demand 4 the product (-Japan). The local stores around my part get them in & there gone b4 noon the next day.

iWent to buy another X360 1st thing Sat morning @ BB about 2 wks ago; friend gave me money to get it 4 her. As soon as the store opened iHad to race against a couple of freaks to get 1 of 5. Good thing the idiots ran down the wrong aisle; iJust walked cuz iKnew exactly where they were. This kind frenzy so long after launch; anybody who says X360 is not off to good run is fool'n themselves.

Gary - What do u mean by "available this gen"? The PS3 is part of this gen. The PS3 is not the coming of a cosmic cataclysm in which Sony destroys the ruling powers of Nintendo & MS and ushur in a fable of legendary gaming unlike what we never experienced b4. That what they would like u to believe, but every company has used that line b4. The PS3 competitors r X360 and Revo which r part of this gen & its coming out within the current generation timeframe... Maybe I'm reading into the comment too much; apologize if i is.

In spite of what Sony does other developers may continue to make their games region bound. Studios in a particular region will loose a lot of money if players suddenly started buying games from another country b4 the title is localized. Companies can't just transfer money to another region to compensate for the loss of income 'cuz there r many tax guidlines, exchange rate, & other regulations for businesses to consider. Sony may talk about it, but iWouldn't b surprised if its just another little marketing tactic.

Region free games have been around for a while anyway so iDon't c what the news is 'bout this. There were games on the original Xbox that were region free & it's been discussed b4 4 the x360 as well. The Xbox 1 games where nothing notable - probably why not many noticed - but it has happened already.

Took me 3hrs to write that!!

Yeah but I never expected Killzone to be a launch title anyway.

The other thing that got my attention was that Sony are hoping to make all their games region free. Surely other developers/publishers must follow suit. It's a win win situation.

Multiple languages on one disc. If only that was available this gen......

Very good read and thanks for posting it. So now we know Killzone is not a launch title. Something tells me it also won't be at E3.
