Is there a concerted effort by some underground society funded by the enemies of Sony? Because they’re doing a really good job. The latest false rumour to go around is that Sony will disallow selling used games. This is something that came up a long long time ago and that Sony denied then. Now it’s coming up again and the headlines are all over the place that you won’t be able to buy used games.
Of course this rumour is false. See the link below – Sony has said that it’s false. My question is why do people put out these totally unsubstantiated rumours? You’ll see headlines all over the place that tear Sony and the PS3 down, but when the rumour is proven false, will you see another blitz of headlines saying so? I don’t think so.
I guess we’ll just have to see how well the PS3 does when it’s released.

Actually I have seen a blitz of headlines saying its false, all yesterday. evilavatar, joystiq, kotaku, engadget, gamesbiz. Every single videogame site I go to.

also, most of the sites that posted it noted something along the lines of “this is probably BS, because gamesradar floated the no bluetooth for the cheap ps3 rumor that was false”
gamesradars credibility is at 0 right now.

Richard: that may be, but I also see lots of places where there wasn’t a retraction.

For example: on Google news when searching PS3, I found 6 entries talking about the ban and just one saying it was a false rumour. Microsoft must love this.
