What made the PlayStation 1 and the PlayStation 2 so great? First off, the hardware was decent. But that wasn’t the truly important thing. It’s the games! The PS2 had games that you wanted to play. Sony’s strength is that they built up a large developer base behind the PLayStation brand. They have many good first- and third-party developers writing software for the PS2, and now for the PS3 as well.
QJ.NET gives a rundown of several of these developers, from Insomniac Games (Resistance: Fall of Man and Ratchet and Clank for the PS3) to Sucker Punch to the newly acquired Guerilla Games (Killzone). It’s an interesting overview of some of the PlayStation developer.
