PS3 to Suffer Shortages Due to Complexity | PS3Blog.net
That’s the prediction of P.J. McNealy, an analyst of American Technology Research. He says because the PS3 has so many complex parts (more than the 1700 found in the Xbox 360 apparantley), Sony won’t be able to manufacture enough until 2007 & then he questions whether people will still want to spend $600 on a PS3 at that stage.
As you know Sony aims to produce 1m consoles each month between November 2006 & March 2007 with 2m ready for the November worldwide launch.
Only Sony will know if they are capable of having that many units ready for launch & subsequent months. Even if they do have 2m ready for launch there will be shortages no matter where you live.
So in summary expect shortages! 😀
