QJ.net has a few new images of futuristic racer (or WipEout wannabee) Fatal Inertia, and unlike MotorStorm, it actually shows of some tracks that aren’t based in a canyon.
Looks OK but the various ships look a little jagged around the edges & don’t look like a lot of effort has been put into them. Also some of the environments look no better than what I’ve seen in various PS2 games, especially the tufts of brown grass in the 4th image.
Still it might have great gameplay which would make the graphical flaws less of an issue.
The real WipEout should be coming to the PS3 some time in 2007 or early 2008 so this might keep the futuristic racer fans happy for a while.
One more thing. Why does QJ.net say the following:
The game was originally released by Koei for the Playstation 3 and has gained popularity among gamers with its unique hovercrafts set in the 23rd century.
The PS3 isn’t even out yet so how has it gained popularity amongst gamers when they haven’t even played it! Unless it’s a strange joke tying in with the futuristic setting of the game.

It must have got lost in the mail from Japan.
I’m deeply saddened by this unfortunate loss of such a legendary game that’s gained such massive popularity amongst PS3 gamers.

Everything looks good except the hovercraft, lol. Very PS2 ish.
