PS3 Games to Cost $60 | PS3Blog.net
A lot of people probably assumed that PS3 games would cost $6o, which is the same price as most Xbox 360 games. Activision CEO Robert Kotick revealed yesterday at the Merrill Lynch Media and Entertainment Conference, that their PS3 games would cost $60:
“We have not seen a lot of consumer resistance at the higher price points and we expect that all of our next-generation products will be launched at $60 price points.”
So if 360 owners had refused to buy any games at the $60 price point would that have caused a chain reaction resulting in a price decrease for both 360 & PS3 games to $50 and below?
Tesco is selling Xbox 360 games for £40 so hopefully they will retail PS3 games for the same price when it’s finally released over in the UK next year.
£40 is still a lot of money for a game & I’ll be making sure that I do my research into any possible game purchases to make sure they will offer me good value for money.
Kotick also confirmed that Call of Duty 3, Tony Hawk’s Project 8 & Marvel Ultimate Alliance would all be launch games for the PS3.
THP8 is the only one of those games that I’m really interested in. I’ll be keeping a close eye on how it is recieved later this year.
