SCEA Announces Extensive Line Up of Game Titles for PLAYSTATION 3

  • Actually, according to most sites, including Gamestop, who interviewed numerous sony reps, these will be available Launch Day. Some shipping a couple of days before launch, and the rest right along side the console on launch day. FYI, the 360 had 17 titles at launch, a few of which being xbox games with slightly higher res textures. The PS3 will have 22, and according to some The Wii will have somwhere in the 20’s as well.

Although I live in Europe, I can’t wait for the US/Japan launch. This will give me plenty of info/reviews/videos to keep me busy until the European launch. It’ll be easier to choose what games to buy. But by then heavenly sword/assassins creed will possibly be out, right? I’ll go for one of them. 🙂

  • If I was based in North America and had managed to get a PS3 for launch I would’ve tried to get THP8, Resistance, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and F.E.A.R.

Not bad for a launch lineup.

  • Resistance
    Marvel Ultimate Alliance
    Need for Speed Carbon
    Ridge Racer 7 (maybe)
    Untold Legends (maybe)

This really sucks. This fall is going to be hellish on my wallet. F.E.A.R., CoD3, Gears of War, Half Life 2, and other I am forgeting. The problem is more time than money anymore. I think it is great that PC games are coming to consoles (I hate playing FPS games on PC). I just wish they would spread them out a little so I didn’t feel the need to get them all at once.

    Oblivion (was awesome on 360)

Those games are all must own titles for me on PS3 (If I was getting one this year). I can’t wait to hear all the PC fanboys freaking out about how they are better on PC (the games that apply).

A good launch lineup with some other good titles following by the spring. The Europeans should have a ton of choices when they finally get the system.
