Apparently someone was curious about the inside of the SIXAXIS and decided to take it apart. I always wondered what that infamous battery looked like…now I know.

Judging from how easy the battery connects to the controller, there is no doubt in my mind that we will eventually find third party replacements available online. But judging from how good lithium batteries have become over the past few years, that wont be a concern until a loooooong way down the line.

I’m not too concerned myself. But I do wonder how easy it is to open up a controller and replace the battery, just out of curiosity.

Well, I have opened up a dualshock before to get a button unstuck. Its a pretty simple affair. Based on the internal images i have seen, the battery is the first thing you see when you unscrew it and take the back off. So it seems like a hassle free issue.
