I don’t know how reliable this is, but it may be the first confirmed instance of an HDTV with a functional HDMI 1.3 input. The Samsung R74 series of displays support 10-bit colour for a 12.8 billion member colour gamut.

The PS3 itself will be one of the first HDMI 1.3 source devices available on the market. (I think Toshiba’s new HD DVD player may beat it to the market.) So it’s nice to see that there will be displays that can make the most of what the PS3 can do. Well, not quite. While they have a big colour gamut, their resolution isn’t FullHD. That is, they’re not 1920 x 1080 sets. They carry a resolution of 1366 x 768. Still not shabby!
