PS3 Outside In | PS3Blog.net

Well it wasn’t going to take long, but a Japanese website (with great tech pedigree thankfully for them) has taken it upon themselves to delve under the shiny surface of the PS3!

PS3 inards

As you can see, tempering (save for the HDD) will leave a VOID marking on your PS3, so if you value your warranty, do not do this! Things to note- The fan is enormous, bigger than a CD! The BD drive looks like a SNES! The Emotion Engine/Graphics Synthesizer chip you would find in a slimline PS2 is clearly visible.

    The PS3 looks great.

I would never open something that cost me $600, at least not in the first year.

  • Yeah, a year really isn’t THAT long to wait to open it. I mean, when you’re talking about $500-$600 worth of material, I’d wait.

  • I have had my psp for a year and a half, and I am STILL scared to death to open it up (to try out a different color faceplate).

with so big parts, I guess it won’t be too many years untill we se the slimline Ps3 πŸ˜‰

  • I’ve already ordered a 160 GB hard drive for the PS3 πŸ™‚ It will arrive tomorrow. And I’ve taken my PSP apart already, but then again it’s a Japanese PSP. I’ll be getting some red buttons for the PSP soon as well πŸ™‚
