New Poll: PS3 Headsets

sony_headset.jpgMy wife called to tell me that my new Bluetooth 2.0 headset arrived from FedEx today, so I’ll be anxious to try it out tonight. Anybody up for a game of Resistance around 10pm EST this evening?

This got me thinking that this might be a good topic for a poll. Do you use, or plan to use, a headset (or equivalent, like the EyeToy) with your PS3?

Previous poll results:

Will you use your PS3 primarily for gaming, or for media?

* Gaming all the way!: 14% (19)
* Gaming with some media.: 70% (92)
* Media with some gaming.: 15% (20)
* Media all the way!: 1% (1)

    Which headset did you buy? I’ve had a heck of a time actually finding a reliable BT headset…

    I bought the Sony Ericsson HBH-GV435. I wanted to buy it in a store to make returning it easier (that’s what I did with the Motorola H700). But I couldn’t find it so I had to buy it online. If it doesn’t work, back it goes!

    Currently I’m using an EyeToy for chat, which isn’t the best method. In Resistance for example, the receiving voice chat outputs through the main audio channel and the mic of course is built into the camera sitting on top of my TV. So I get all kinds of teenaged squeeling voice overlays ruining the sound of the awesome carnage that is Resistance multiplayer online. I hope to get a new Plantronics BT headset, anyone know if those are any good?

    I really want to get a headset for my PS3, it just makes the multiplayer so much more fun! When the hell is Sony going to release a headset, you know, one that is made for the PS3? I find it quite lame that they didn’t have a headset from day one, I don’t feel like paying $50-$150 for a headset that’s designed for a mobile phone! Get with it Sony!

    I tried my new Sony headset last night. It feels really nice on the ear, but it still doesn’t always pair up with the PS3. Which is really annoying!

    well guys the official news is NO blue tooth will be issued or rated by sony because they do not work 100 per cent of the time yet i have had all blue tooth headsets and all have failed the best option is to (honestly) buy socom 1 2 or 3 from game or any computer shop it comes with a head set wired which works 100 hundred per cent clear and precise some times you have to un plug from usb and plug back in but its a minor considering ya spending up to 30 quid on a headset that dnt work and messes up games

    How do you get the PS2 USB headset to work on the PS3? I plugged mine into my new PS3 and nothing came through.
