You gotta be jocking, right?

I have 2mbits up and 192kbits down!

Of course, at University, I get 4megaBYTES per second up AND down (simultaneously), but the firewall blocks of many ports, so theres no go for bittorrent (Linux isos and WoW updates, but both can be downloaded oftern internally at even higher speeds, the Germany wide university network is one of the fastest on Earth, except of course Internet2).

And yes, he was talking about component bandwidth. Bandwidth in a system describes, how much data can flow between CPU and RAM or RAM and GPU (and so forth). As the PS3 has 2 128bit lines at the GPU (normal 128bit to GDDR3 RAM and flexio to XDR (thru CBEA iirc)), it has a pretty high bandwidth (compared to the general PC of today), nearly twice as large as the 360 (but the 360 does have its eDRAM which "saves" precious bandwidth, because it will be used for bw heavy applications like blur, AA and whatnot, which the PS3 has to do in main/local RAM).

The advantage of the PS3 is, that the 2 RAM banks dont share a BUS, so either cant starve (stalling the cpu/gpu). Theoretically, this can happen with the 360, if either needs to much bw. But is this is purely theoretical, I dont think, this will be too much of a problem NOW (I can develop into a big one though).

I hope I could give you some insight into what BW means.

(I hope, I made no mistakes here :D)

Sony would be better off if they only let Phil Harrison do the talking. Stringer seems to screw up at every chance
