MGS4 is possible on 360 but if it was a timed release the people who really want it, will buy it for PS3. The few thousand people who can't buy both systems would pick it up on the 360. Just like GTA, I bought the PS2 versions long before the Xbox version because I didn't want to wait. No way MGS4 ships this year IMO.

Segitz, if you own an HDTV you would definately see a difference (worse) if a game was made at 480p. A game running at 720p with 2x FSAA would be the same as a game running @ 480p 4x FSAA as far as jaggies go. The reason you don't see a difference from 720p to 1080p is the size of the HDTV you are watching. At 60" or larger 1080p is needed (unless you are sitting 14' away). A 42" 720p would look about the same as a 1080p 65". The difference is what your eye can see. The human eye can only see so much detail and a 720p 50" viewed from 10' is about as much detail as the eye can see. If a 50" 480p was viewed from 10' it would horrible (I had this unpleasure Friday night watching a Sixers game at a bar).

I hope Kojima does eventually make ZoE3 (for the PS3 of course  ). ZoE2 was a big improvement over ZoE and it would be amazing to see what he could do with it on the PS3/360.

Not really important but.... I can't stand GOW.... I was so looking forward to it.... but to me its a baby shooter... ya you can chain-saw but the controls are so twitchy and slow. Its also repetitive. I had much more fun with Resistance.

Methinks Kojima likes GOW :-P. Thats him playing it at E3 06. He got a good chainsaw kill I take it.

The interview really interests me in MGS4. I haven't played any of the previous ones. I'm finding that some franchises are finding new life in the next-gen, and although I might previously passed on them or not enjoyed them, the latest incarnations manage to win me over.

I dont think, we will see a 360 version anytime soon.

As I see it, the Metal Gear series, or rather Kojima Pro always optimize "to the max" to get the results they want (just look at MGS3, it looks sooooooo gorgeous!), hence optimizing it for 2 RAM busses at the GPU (doubles bandwidth) and that way, rendering it VERY hard to be ported to the 360.

A pc version should not be that much of a problem (only CPU wise, but Core 2 Duo quad cores should be able to cope with that workload), as they have massively more bandwidth internally than the PS3 has (the new GeForces have something like 80GB/s, the PS3 has more or less about 60GB/s, as were the 360 only has 25GB/s (not counting the eDRAM here, as the two other systems dont have it and when porting it, it would not be used at all, not even for FSAA as tiling needs to be done before doing the engine)).

I would like to see "benchmarks" of this game. I mean, how much the hardware does, when rendering its most massive scenes. Then we would see, how much further the hardware could be driven thru optimisation in rendering graphics.

It also would be a massive feat, if their engine could run MGS4 in 1080P, but after reading Kojimas comments, he'd rather have 480P than 720P :D. I most likely can understand that. I mean, just look at a good DVD (with a good tv and dvdplayer). This can produces nearly lifelike pictures, the old generation didnt even bother with, and now we up the resolution?? That doesnt really make sense, does it? I always laugh at those people who say, "I need 1600+ resolutions in (CS or whatever) to play right..." I for one cant see much difference going from 720P to 1080P and I really couldnt care less (my PC LCD has 1280x1024x32 and to me, thats enough, a bit small (19'') for CAD but it is doable).

I would like to see a major game, running max at 480P@4xFSAA completely maxxing out the PS3s ability in graphics. That would be rather nice ^^ (less jaggies, more available RAM, less pixel pushing workload which then again could be put into other areas like real hair, cloth, texture effects).

Oh man... I always drift away writing stuff :D

I need to get and play ZoE2, never got a chance to do so.

MGS 4 will most likely never be ported to the 360, but he might eventually create a new, original IP for another platform or console in the future.

Sounds to me that he was more interested in porting MGS to the PC than anything else.

Also ,Majormauser,I read in the latest GameInformer they did an interview with a Sony guy, can't remeber the name, and the question was raised about so many games going multiplatform. According to him he claims that Sony has never paid for an exclusive and if that's the only way the competition can get a game then that's their buisness. So I don't think Sony's going to pay to keep anything exclusive.
