Finally, the Manhunt sequel has been officially announced! It will come out for PS2, PSP, and Wii. PS3 owners will be able to use the PS2 version through emulation, but unfortunately, there will not be a PS3 specific version.
I wonder if Wii users will get to use gesture recognition to do executions? I would have rather seen a PS3 version, but this is still great news.

Sam Houser says
With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward.
Sounds excellent!

Me too luke. I wanted to see sixaxis gesture recognition and fully next-gen everything.
I’m still happy it is coming out though. The story, voice acting, music, and atmosphere are what made the first game and we should still get that, even on the older PS2 hardware.

I never got to play the first one. I only saw it being played while i was at a friends house once. I will pick this one up this time around

You guys know why this is not a PS3 game: this is just a guess, but this has supposedly been in development for a while and they probably already had the game largely completed for PS2 era hardware.
