I don't think the music will be in 7.1 surround. Multi-channel audio is mainly for movie and games so you can hear spatially positioned sound effects. Most music is single channel and doesn't even use stereo.

Now, some musicians such as Nine Inch Nails and Beck did true 5.1 multi-channel surround sound mixes on DVD-A or SACD that added trippy effects to the music. I'm a huge fan of that, but I don't think that's what they're talking about here.

I think the game sound is 7.1, and the music is single channel or stereo. I also don't quite understand what they are talking about with Live-Fi.

Wouldnt it be cool, if the ingame music get played thru virtual speakers in your car?

My (sorely missed, had a "meeting" with a deer some time ago, fortunately nothing happened to me) old car had 4 positions for speakers and turning ones head makes it sound differently (dunno how to explain it differently :D ). I hope, "Live-Fi" is sort of something like this. The music in games like NFS always gets switched off by me, because mostly I dont like it (I am rather a Metal guy) and secondly it sound totally bland, as if a truck with speakers on it is following me... This is not like "real driving" :D

Luckily my new receiver does have 6.1 (and I got new speakers from my mums friend, which majorly ROCK!!).
