FW 1.6 will have background downloading
This is something that I’ve always wanted. When I downloaded Tekken (over 800 MB) from the PlayStation Store, I just had to go off and do other things until it finished. But it looks like those days are over with the 1.6 firmware update.
Here is part of a interview that Game Informer had with Harrison from D.I.C.E. 07:
GI: …You mentioned today, background downloads. Will that be part of it, and what are some of the other things that you have planned for that?
Harrison: The only thing I can talk about is that background downloading will be part of the 1.6 upgrade. There’s a bunch of other stuff, but Kawanishi-san would kill me if I was to reveal all of the details.

Good news indeed. I’m looking forward to this update. Hopefully it has more than just that, too!

Darth-Busby….. you CAN listen to MP3s while surfing the web, just not the PS Store. As for the file grouping on the PS3, try pressing Squarer while on your Music tab for more sorting options.
I am happy to hear that Sony is staying on top of these much needed updates and finding new ways in keeping the XMB fresh and exciting! I can’t wait!
