My Buddy List is too Long
When I first got my PS3, a bunch of people sent me invites because they saw my name online somewhere, probably right here. I thought the whole concept was pretty cool, so I accepted invitations all over the place. But now I have a huge buddy list full of a bunch of people I don’t know and don’t play games with. I keep getting messages that so-and-so is online and you know what? I don’t care!
I was thinking of trimming down the list to just the people I know or correspond with, but am having second thoughts. Would that be rude? It might be disconcerting to be forcibly removed from someone’s buddy list. I don’t want to tick anybody off, I just want to clean up my list.
What do you guys think?

Just delete (if that’s how it works) anyone who a) you don’t know or b) you’ve never played.
They aren’t really your ‘buddies’, either online or offline so they shouldn’t be on the list.

Well, I wasn’t thinking of removing PS3Blog.net readers that I recognize. Just those people whose names I see and I think “who is THAT?”.

Wouldn’t be rude at all. Why not trim it down to people you actually know?

I only have 3 friends on my PSN list. I had about 40 on my XBL friendslist, which I’ve since trimmed to only 20. Its not rude at all.

Hahaha.. the other day I was thinking exactly the same. There are people that I never heard of in my life, so probably I will be trimming my Buddy list as well.

Would be nice if you could organize them into groups. For example PS3Blog Friends, Fall of man Friends, etc. One thing I really wish I could do is delete more than one message at once.

I don’t think it is rude to remove names of people you never heard of before. I see no reason not to trim it down to just blog members and friends you have actually played.

Totally understandable! While playing poorly programmed games such as Tony Hawks, every time someone logs in/out or you receive a message, the game stalls for about 10 seconds. This completely ruins any chance of landing tricks or completing that combo you’ve been working at for the past hour and a half. Not to mention it’s annoying as hell. So yeah, trim it down!

I would do the same Henning….trim your list so that it’s not overly crowded with people you don’t know or never play games with. I did the same with my 360 buddy list
(i no longer have a 360 btw)

Tosh Hatch, in your message lists, it is possible to delete all in-messages and out-messages all at once. I have done it before cuz i get sent alot of messages and also send alot. All you do is go to your message box, then select either sent or received, hit triangle, then delete.

Well, that’s what I did last night. I went from 28 people in my list to 8.

Yea definetly go for it. I know I’m on your list but have never had a chance to play any games with you. I have probably a good 15+ friends on my list as well, many whom I don’t play any games with.
