The games is worth every penny for the racing experience and the graphics.

I will pick it up, as I am no shooter guy, that much (but I am VERY much looking forward to GRAW 2, just saw the 360 HD review on gametrailers, looks rad), and besides Motorstorm, there is not much in my kind of genre.

Well see, what time will bring in the next few weeks.

This is a PS3 blog but I appreciate your honesty. I’m honestly going to wait until the end of the year before I pick up another game because it seems like the software released now is lacking. A good rental though.

Why? Has splitscreen become “so last gen”, or what? -Whats wrong with having some friends over to play a game together?

It’s still worth it because the game is that fun. I ended up playing till 2 in the morning. I’ll agree with the online lobby system. It seems a bit weak. But hopefully the fix will be in the new PS Home feature. Bluetooth seems to be supported quite well. I need to get a headset. (any Suggestions?)
The load times are a bit long. Why don’t they just load the vehicles onto the hard drive. I’ve got the space, Use it.
But the game is fun and just spectacular in drivers view. A great sense of driving and falling. And the music is great. While a few people will turn it down, I love every song. Something about Slipknot and Monster Magnet on this racetrack that is just so right.
Minor quibble. I don’t like the way they have handled the shadows they are too black.
Great in parts Dust Devil is so far the best track i’ve played. I haven’t played at night yet but the lighting is something special. If this is a first gen PS3 game then the PS3 is going to have some awesome looking and playing games. When this engine gets tweaked and used for Twisted Metal next and Wipeout Next it should be nothing less than amazing. I’ll be online after the Leaf game.

Well unless they fix points 2,3 and 4 I won’t be getting it. It hasn’t been helped by the poor reviews of the single player portion of the game. Not good enough. I was really looking forward to MotorStorm at some point in the future but not as it is in it’s current state.

I was very surprised how long it took to load at times. They really need to have it cached to the hard drive. But sadly they do not.

And the on-line racing …… it’s hard to find a game quickly and get into a race. A lot of the hosts just sat there waiting for who knows what and there was already 12 people in the lobby just waiting for host to select start! I even turned on my bluetooth headset and said “Come on, let’s go” over and over and no response. Another person in the lobby was doing the same thing as me. It was very annoying that the host didn’t do anything. And a lot of the time you just have to find a room where the racing is already started and what for them to finish which is very boring. I just want a quick search and join feature, I hate waiting for hosts to start the game or waiting for the race to finish to I can jump in.

But other than that. I love it, racing is very fun. On-line racing is very fun once you get into a game. Graphics are amazing.
