PS3 Compatibility list

There’s a new PS3 compatibility site up that purports to show how compatible PS2 and PSOne games are on the PS3.

I’m not sure how accurate it is, though. It says that F1 2001 should run just fine – it’s given 5 stars (or smilies or whatever those red things are). But I know for a fact that F1 2001 doesn’t work on my PS3. It used to work in single player mode, but after one of the firmware updates it failed to do even that.

One obvious problem is that I don’t see on this site anything that mentions whether they’re talking about the Japanese/NA PS3, or the PAL PS3, which have different compatibilities with older games.

Anybody else have games that conflict with what’s shown in this list?

Try clicking on the game’s name :)

Still I kinda agree, it could be made more visible vya having a separate smiley column for each major region.

In addition you have to check the game ID, SLES or SCES is for Europe, SLUS or SCUS US and so on. As there are currently no mixed BC in each region and PS2 games are still region locked, the ID tells you which emu has been used. But this will change of course in the future.

    What Mutsch said…

It is for everything, but as it is unaffiliated, it can be pretty inaccurate.

First, because no US games work on EU PS3s (region locking… never underestimate the power of stupid people in a large crowd) and secondly because of fanboys…

My games all work, beside MGS2 (non substance), which I can live with…

Also, you can click on a game, where it states “European/1.6″ or whatever!

In the forum they state that the ratings are based on the official Sony rating and user ratings, so it should be very useful. I have checked up on a couple of titles and they were correct.

Everything works fine on my system….well, tomb raider freezes at one point, but it could be because the disk is scratched.
