if the cost of songs seems too much, Sony should be offering ‘SongPacks’, about 5-10 songs for a cheaper price, organised into stuff like ‘The best of David Bowie’, ‘top RnB tunes’ etc.

It has been confirmed there will be around 30 (HD!!!) songs/videos on the disc (not 300!!!) and around 300-350 songs for download on an iTunes-style “SingStore” from day 1.

Songs downloaded from there will be saved onto the PS3 hard drive.

The songs should cost £1.49 (about 2.18 euros or $2.94)

Sony also plan to put on around 50 songs per month, increasing to 100 songs per month eventually, focusing on “total variety”.

The cheapest I have found the game (pounds sterling, sorry americans) is £34.89 on sendit.com (http://www.sendit.com/game/item/6000000003882). The release sate on that site is 30/06/07.

That 350 is probably mostly downloadable songs that cost extra.

I definitely won’t play this (not the singing type), but my girlfriend will love it, and I can’t wait!

It could be done, on my computer, I have 634 songs at 4.7 GB. But I guess with a video, it is more, but a Blu-Ray Disc is pretty big.

I can’t wait for Sing-Star though. Though I am a rapper, I like to sing R&B too, like maybe some Outkast, or any other artist.

It’s a BD with 30ish songs and the store with a little over 300. If you see all the songs Singstar has already produced overseas it is easy to see how they got to the 300 mark.

Guess it could be done, Singstar PS2 has 30 songs on one dvd…?
