I am 100% behind you mc!

I am no programmer at all (yet! maybe my studys will go this way in the future), but I can do neat stuff with AutoCAD (engineering) and Maya (modelling and lighting). As of yet, I couldnt put it to good use beside my hobbys.

Some of the oldtimers here may remember The Incredible Machine (aka TIM by Sierra). You could built Rube Goldberg contraptions there... I really got lost in this game for months on end, without DLC^^. I hope LBP allows for the same stuff.

Selling levels for a little amount of money would be cool, if you are a creative mind. The rest also profits from it, as they can get "our" levels and play them for plain fun. Everybody profits from it!

1) Make levels
2) ?
3) Profit!!!

I'm an art director myself and the second I saw LBP it was like lights went off in my head. I've got no programming skills. But I can photoshop and illustrate quite well. Like two seconds after I saw the demo I knew that someone, somewhere is going to recreate the entire first level of Super Mario Brothers in LBP. I would buy that level for a dollar. And if the physics are consistent why couldn't I make Smash TV with my little guys, or an RPG. With those stamps I can put instructions right into the game. ie Punch here. LIFT. Carry. The possibilities are endless.
Could I create a level that would scare, puzzle, entice joy and challenge other people? I think I can, hell, I think I could create tons. And if I and others like me got a little cash on the side because of it. LBP cold easily be the first game that has over a thousand good to great downloadable levels. And even more downloadable content. I guess I saw the inclusive factor in this game.
And yes MetalProxay, I'd love to have your help. Since I think two people working on a level will just help it be all the more diabolical. Have a greta weekend.

mcloki? so, you could just say, there's the Live way to charge, and the PS way for content. It just seems like there is more value to the content that we will have to pay for from sony. at least initially.

I don't really agree with you on the micro-payments. I think they are a natural extension of being online.
I'm against micro-payment s when they
1. Give richer players an advantage. Better gun for a dollar. Horse Armour

But I'm not against micro-payments for entire levels. In fact I'm for it. But within certain limits.
I don't want to see Sony and Media Molecule be the only benefactors of a users hard work.

I would love to see a micro-payment system in place that would get money to the users that create content. As an example.
If i mcloki make a level for LBP. mcloki Laughing Lava Level. I would love to post it online. Write up a review and put a price on it of .99 cents. Of that .99 cents. Sony would get 10-20 cents for setting up the e-commerce portion of the site. Media molecule would get 30-40 to help further their development of the next LBP. and i as mcloki get .50 cents put into my Sony Wallet. This way every person that creates a little bit of content gets a reward.
What would this do.
1. Create an economy. A Sony PS3 economy.
2. Create a motivated user base. Nothing motivates like cash.
3. Creates a monetized PS3 user base. Maybe I can buy download movies or songs or something else from some other developer. But I made something and someone bought it
4. Really big games- Imagine user created Oblivion Quests that cost .99 cents.
PS3 would be the place to be.
Would there be abuse. Yes there would. But Ask Bethesda how the horse armour went over. People are very smart these days. There are plenty of sites like this one that would ward consumers off of bad content. It could be a very good thing.

Its just an alternate version of micro payments
