It’s strange being in a minority group. Everyone looks at you strangely, wondering why you’re so different. People wonder why you haven’t made the leap. They think that maybe, just maybe, you’ve been dropped on the head as a kid. After all, if you have a PS2 or PS3, why wouldn’t you have played God of War I and God of War II ?
That’s the situation I find myself in when everyone talks about God of War. As a gamer you have to have played these games, or your not really a gamer. Just a quasi-gamer. But I’m one of those people on a small little island of head-in-sanders who have not played either of these games for more than 5 minutes.
So it’s only with academic interest that I note that there is no God of War III in production (yet). Everyone and his flea-bitten dog knows that any such game would have to come out on the PS3. And that such a game would be a big boost for the PS3′s sales. But if articles like the one below are to be believed (which I’ll leave to you to discuss), no such game is currrently being produced.
Maybe Kratos is running out of Greek mythology icons to kill?

No way! The ending of God of War 2 makes it 100% certain that there will be a God of War 3 on PS3. When it is finally released, it will be a massive hit and it will also shift some units. I’m not holding my breath though…

I’ve played God of War 1 & 2, amazing games! I was lucky enough to get a free UMD demo for the PSP God of War, hopefully it comes soon.
I’m very excited for God of War on the PS3, it will be amazing!

I’ve not played either God of War either for more then a minute. Not saying I didn’t like it..but just never bought it.
I’m fairly certain Cory Barlog has confirmed they are working GOW3. In fact I’m 99% sure they stated 1080p and 60fps.

I’ve never played either God of War game either. Someday I’ll probably pick them up.
But I would guess it’s almost a sure thing that a GoW3 is coming. In the interviews they always stated they in concept mode but never confirm they have a green light, I would guess a game of this caliber they would wait to announce till it’s in at least video form to show. Kinda like they did with the PSP version. In the online commentaries from the PSP teaser site they even stated that they ported the GoW engine to PS3 already.
