Eurogamer has a hands on preview of Devil May Cry 4 but I had barely finished reading the first paragraph before I was smashed in the face with a sledgehammer and was then repeatedly set upon by a herd of angry Elephants:
Surely the game must be out soon? Not so. Fans have a further nine months to wait until it finally emerges sometime in “Q1 2008″, our Capcom rep regretfully informs us.
The preview hasn’t revealed anything I didn’t already know so check it out if you want.

WTF! Why a delay?? They’re not trying to push any hardware or anything….I don’t get it.
Oh well, sounds like MGS4 is getting a delay as well. At least I can save $120 now this fall….

I believe it’s delayed because it’s multi-format. If it was PS3 exclusive it would be out this Autumn, of that I have no doubt!

Yes, trying to get it out at the same time on two formats is probably taking longer. But this is probably a better move if they want the game to sell. It was going to get totally steamrolled by Halo 3 and GTAIV. Although that doesn’t mean the spring is any safer. I never got around to playing DMC3 because it came out around the same time as Tekken 5, Gran Turismo 4, and God of War. If MGS4 gets delayed to early 2008 as well, they’ll have the same problem all over again.
