Motorstorm 1.2 patch is out for North America

The patch includes a new Time Attack mode. And it fixes Stability issues, glitches with boost, SD text cut-off, online performance and surround sound glitches. You can now have 50 friends in your game’s buddy list. I wonder if I have that many, lol. I just keep accepting every buddy invite I get. I need to trim my buddy list down. I have way to many. On a side note, I think it would be nice option on the XMB to see the last time somebody in your buddy list logged onto the PSN. And I thought there was going to be a new track as well, or am I thinking wrong?

It’s very important to update the game first. Just launch Motorstorm and you’ll be prompted to download the update. Then download the update from the PS Store.

Motorstorm 1.2 patch now available in North America

  1. Henning Says:

    There are two updates.

    This update is free.

I think they’re going to charge for the update with the new map.

  2. MetalProxy Says:

Cool now I get to play the game some more, woot. Nobody on my buddy list wants to play the game, so dont be supprized if I send a invite Tosh.

  3. Jax Myth Says:

I wouldn’t want to download that update if it’s gonna give me all of those glitches!

  4. François Says:

I Downloaded the update from the Store, after I could not launch Motorstorm anymore. What are they thinking letting user screw up so easily just by downloading a new option for their game!! This is ridiculous!

  5. Sporty Says:

    LOL.

I was wondering what you were talking about Jax, but once I re-read this article it does come off completely wrong.

“The patch includes a new Time Attack mode, Stability issues, glitches with boost, SD text cut-off, online performance and surround sound glitches.”

    Nice wording here lol

  6. Virtualess Says:

First and foremost this is the good site, keep it up!

I had a problem which I believe some of you might have too - I have created a few users to different PS Stores around the world - US, UK, Auz etc while mine is regsitered in Singapore (the unit was bought in Singapore but we use it in Malaysia)

Me and my kids enjoyed Motorstorm from time to time, but we do not run it with the US user login.

I did something in a hurry - I downloaded the patch from the US site without first running Motor storm. The content must be donwloaded and stored somewhere on the hardisk. Can someone confirm this? If this is the case then is there anyway to delete it? Would this affect the real download content of Motorstorm?

We have not gotten the update from the Singapore store yet (I think this is the same for SIngapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan). Once it is available I suppose I will run Motor Storm and go online for the update. And hopefully it work.

Hope to hear from someone out there soon.

  7. Sporty Says:

I know on the games tab from XMB if you go all the way to the top is game data. You can see Motorstorm 1.2 update there and delete it. Triangle then delete.

But I didn’t see the add-on listed there, which is what I think your asking about.

  8. Virtualess Says:

Thanks sporty! I did that and yes it is deleted. Really blind of me not to see that.

Comment on Motorstorm - in Asia we have nothing much to join online! The lobby population is so little.

I guess I have to wait for the patch to be made available in Asia, before I could install it.

Would appreciate if someone could enlighten me (us) on the step to install it. Do we just download it in PSN Store or have to run Motorstorm and then go online and it will download it automatically? Sounds like a stupid question for now…

    Thanks guys.

  9. Virtualess Says:

    Hi Sporty (again),

I guess I now understand your message - there is supposed to be an add on list on the game data or something like that? Yes, I have not seen it on my PS3.

Has Francois solved his problem? This is something I think might happen to a lot of user.

  10. Sporty Says:

Yeah your suppose to get all the updates from inside Motorstorm before getting the add-on from the store.

But I agree. I think most current PS3 owners are more tech literate at the moment. But once PS3’s prices are lower for it to become a mainstream console I can see a lot of problems.

They really need to idiot proof the system for the less computer literate. I think it will become a headache for Sony once it’s base grows.

  11. Virtualess Says:

I am already a half cooked techie and yet still fall into the trap.

Yes, Sony needs to make it more consumer friendly.

PS3 is an interesting beast - if it is carefully marketed at the right price, it should make way for a new market for Sony. Pitty Sony did not do well - I feel they should have bundled the eyetoy thing. It is a wonderful machine waiting to be tapped, and a very refined product. I bought it not for games only (In Malaysia, the Wii is about 2/3 the price of PS3), but for newer type of games and all the multimedia and AV functions. When I saw the Little Big Planet, I decided to get it as this piece of software is perhaps the most creative software I can safely let my kids enjoy.
