PS3 will have 380 games by March 2008 [Update]
Currently there are about 60 software titles and 50 download-only titles available for the PS3. Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) President Kazuo Hirai has promised that there will be 380 games by March 2008. There will be 200 retail titles and 180 PlayStation Network games.
I think this fall will be big for the PLAYSTATION 3, lots of great new games, Home, big upgrades to the XMB, etc. If this many games do come out by March 2008, then the PS3 will have to problem selling worldwide.
[Update]
It looks like the 380 games is a international figure. Games released in the North America market will be at least 145 during the fiscal year, it doesn’t count games released since last March. So 105+ retail games, and 40 PSN games. No word on the numbers for Europe, but I would think it would be similiar.
The number of first-party titles announced for fiscal 2007 stands at 15, including Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, LAIR, Little Big Planet, Eye of Judgment, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
Third-party titles currently scheduled for fiscal 2007 include Coded Arms: Assault, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Earlier Sony promised that there were 500 PS3 games in development. So this means that plans for 120 games for PS3 have already been scrapped.
It’s easy to see where this is going.

Link to the 500 games in development? Last I heard…the total number of games in development was around 200. So this would be a huge increase.

@Massive, who said they still dont have them games in development? He stated the games that should be finished by the give time line. Besides around 180 PSN (as long as they are Original games) IS alot. Sony seems to never win with some people.
Also we shouldn’t be suprized that japan has more games, lol.

I have a feeling that out of the 180 PlayStation Network games, a good portion of those will be PSP or PS1 games. But we’ll see for sure in time.

I’ve need heard of the 500 number either. I heard Sony has nearly 200 first part games in development back at GDC. But Sony has nearly 20 studios and 90% of those probably wont be released this year.
Out of that number 15 are set for release this fall, 80 3rd party games. So we have about 60 unannounced games to be released in the next 9 months. Should make an interested E3 and other trade shows.
I agree with Tosh that the majority of the PSN games will be PS1, but that’s not really a bad thing.

If they make 5-10 great (exclusive) games who cares about the other games. I don’t have the money or time to play that much.
