The Bourne Identity is one of my favourite books. The book sequels get progressively worse, so never mind those. Luckily for me, both The Bourne Identity movie and the sequel, The Bourne Supremacy, were both very good movies. So I’m looking forward to the third movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, this summer more than any other movie.
Of course, the movies are nothing like the books, and that’s probably why they’re so good. They chart their own course. For example, in the book, Bourne’s nemesis is a dude named Carlos (a real life terrorist). Carlos is currently behind bars, which would make it seem kinda silly for Bourne to be going after him.
But now there’s also a Bourne video game – The Bourne Conspiracy. Will it be any good? I doubt it. Why? Because it’s a movie based on a movie based on a book. But I’ll give it a rental at least to see how it fares…
