After Play.com and Amazon.co.uk changed their listings for the PS3 version of The Darkness to July 22nd and July 20th respectively, 2K Games has confirmed to Eurogamer that the PS3 version of The Darkness has been put back until July 20th in Europe.
No reason is given for the delay of the PS3 version in Europe but it’s getting very annoying as it’s not the first time this has happened to an EU PS3 game. Spider-Man 3, Calling All Cars, Rainbow Six: Vegas and GRAW 2 are just a few PS3 games that have been put back for various reasons. The latter 2 aren’t available in NA yet either.
At least RSV is finally being released this Friday in the UK despite it initially being a PS3 launch title. 🙄
Importing is not an option in most cases as a lot of games don’t have global servers meaning I won’t be able to play with/against my friends, not to mention I trade in any unwanted games to help fund new purchases and very few retailers take imported games.
I really am puzzled why the PS3 version is delayed yet the 360 version goes ahead as normal. Rumours seem to point towards BBFC approval problems but if that’s the case, why is the 360 version cleared?
Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a definite buy for me when it’s released in the UK early next month (supposedly), so I’m intrigued to know more about the DLC that will eventually be made available for NGS. The revelation came in a Q&A session on the official PLAYSTATION US Forums:
Q: Do you guys plan to take advantage of PSN and add downloadable content similar to what you did with the Hurricane Packs?
A: We’ll be making an announcement regarding our plans for downloadable content soon. The content will have some amazing depth for a download!
I hope it’s free! Probably won’t be though. 🙁 It will be interesting to see just what the DLC contains.
There are some other mildly interesting bits of info, such as ideas for Home trophies in future Team Ninja games (came too late to feature in NGS), first play through of NGS should take around 20hrs to complete and no denial or confirmation about Dead or Alive coming to the PS3. Personally I’d prefer the proper Ninja Gaiden sequel over DoA but I think that may be a 360 exclusive.
This one’s for all my friends that read this blog that also like Call of Duty.
GameStop has released pricing for the upcoming game Rock Band. Of course there has been no official confirmation. That would be silly. And GameStop has a history of being wrong on stuff like this, so take it with a grain of salt:
- Rock Band Bundle (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – $199.99
The Rock Band Bundle for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 includes: Rock Band the game, wireless guitar, drums and microphone.
- Rock Band Game (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – $59.99
- Rock Band Drum Set (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) $79.99
- Rock Band Microphone (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – $29.99
- Rock Band Wireless Fender Guitar Controller (PlayStation 3) – $59.99
- Rock Band Wireless Fender Guitar Controller (Xbox 360) $79.99
Why does the PS3 guitar controller cost $20 less than the 360 one? I hope it’s because the 360 one uses Microsoft’s proprietary stuff instead of standard Bluetooth like the PS3 one.
