Sony to Announce Euro PS3 Details on Thursday | PS3Blog.net

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Sony are going to announce some major PS3 news this Thursday, specifically to do with the European version of the PS3. While NA sees the price of the 60GB PS3 dropped to $499 and a new 80GB PS3, due for release next month for $599 including MotorStorm, nothing has been mentioned about Europe.

I doubt they will announce the 80GB PS3 for Europe but I am expecting an official price cut to around £375/£350 (£375 just doesn’t look right and you can pick up a PS3 for £399 most places anyway), including MotorStorm or Resistance.

I don’t mind if Sony drops the price of the 60GB PS3 in Europe. It was bound to happen at some stage and it’s quite common practice with TVs and other electrical goods. I hope they don’t introduce the 80GB PS3 though, I’m baffled as to why they have done so for NA. It would be even less relevant to the European market.

Thursday should be a very interesting day. 🙂

  1. I don’t understand why SCEE is making an announcement at a US only conferance about the EU.

It’s like SCEA announcing a US price drop at Tokyo Game show. Gues they don’t want to wait till next month

  2. They should make the HDD “optional”, like make it you have to get one, but it doesnt matter what size. Everything from 20 to 250gig^^ Then the customer can choose, what he wants to pay!
