And besides, Sony's solution won't be able to record my digital TV content because Rogers protects it. (A common problem here in Canada. There's no CableCARD support here, unlike the States.) Of course its only currently for europe, due to the most areas using digital as opposed to analog as the primary method of transmitting tv signals. E3 had new announcements: games we hadn't heard of (Echochrome), massive unveilings of big-name games that we haven't seen a peep from in two whole years (Killzone), surprising exclusivity deals (NCSoft, MGS4, UT3, Haze)... This conference had zero surprises. Henning, didn't we already know about the COD4 11/5 release date? PlayTV was mildly interesting, but that was it. No music/video service. No new games or major unveilings or big third party deals (the soccer news wasn't nothing but I'm not into that). I would have expected a low-key show like this, if it weren't for David Reeves promising peak season fireworks and hinting that it would be better than E3.
