Another note regarding voice support.

For those that may be unfamiliar... Don't assume your ps3 will open ports for voice chat using UPNP. It doesn't seem to work very well.

If your PS3 is behind a router make sure you set the PS3's ip address manually to be the same as your router's DMZ. This probably sounds confusing to those that don't know what I'm talking about but if you google "PS3 DMZ" you'll find some detailed advice.

Nascar demo was awful indeed, I think I abandonned it before completing the first turn: graphics, sounds, controls, these just couldn't hold a candle to Dirt, which itself just couldn't hold a candle to GT:HD in my book.

'guess I've been spoilt.

StrangleHold is the only demo (with HS) in a long while that I actually cared to play to the end. But the framerate wasn't so good, and the action was already getting repetitive/stale in the demo. Might be worth picking up once it hits the bargain bin, but full price? nope.

Do not under estimate Nascar 08, the graphics rival any *PS2* racing game (not a typo) excluding some(!), and it runs at a whopping 30 frames per second! Another hit from EA.

I don't like the Resistance multi-player maps at all. They are too big, boring, and chaotic. Counterstrike (or R6:V or GRAW2) wins for that type of multiplayer shooter with excellent maps. I know the new map pack is supposed to provide that type of improvement, but I haven't bothered.

However, the single player game in Resistance is amazing.

Hachi, I definitely agree regarding HS. I've only played a little, but so far the full game is much better than I expected from playing the demo.

Yes, Derrickgott007 is correct. Warhawk sound quality is largely dependent on connection speed. I found this to be true, first hand, when I upgraded my high-speed internet connection last month. Now everything online plays sweet! =)
As for changes in games...

Resistance -- needs Online co-op mode (for sure!).

GRAW2 -- (I've played this quite a bit lately). What it needs are much, much more maps that are in Campaign-mode. As it stands, there are like maybe 5 maps in Campaign, and the rest (lots) are in other modes like Recon, Kill everyone, etc. Although, having all those maps in multiplayer are great, the most glaring problem with this game is that, there are a finite number of enemies per map (40?), and once you've killed them all, it doesn't matter if you are set on Recon mode or any other objectives set; the game ends when all enemies are killed. They should allow for regeneration of enemies, if your other objectives are not met.
As it is, we (me plus my 3 online friends) can finish a map in around 5-8mins!!!
This is on the 'Hard' setting, but no Helicopters.
So, at 5mins per map, it doesn't take long before we're done all the maps in the game, although there are a lot. Regenerating enemies in Recon mode is all I ask for. That would make each game last 20-30mins probably, which would really rock.

Heavenly Sword -- I must say, this game is much better than the demo would suggest. I didn't have much hope, until I actually played it for real. It's awesome, but...
This game has a weird "rushed" pacing to it. Not quite sure how to pinpoint it, but every segment in the game feels like I'm being rushed through it. Unlike GoW, where it's a more relaxed story pace, but still kicking the same amount of a$$. If they fix this "rushed pacing", the game would definitely not feel as short. My other non-serious gripes are that Nariko should not be so angry all the time. They should make her more "cute" or perhaps softer around the edges (kinda Lara Croft style). Oh, and is it just me, or do the quirky mini-bosses remind you of MGS? hahaha

The NASCAR demo was awful. It was the gaming equivalent of watching paint dry.

Derrick, I have flawless sound quality in Resistance and other online games I've played on PS3, yet Warhawk still sounds awful.

Anyway, i don't want to start another Warhawk debate, my opinion hasn't changed from my 'controversial' post. :)

Nascar has road courses too....But Nascar isnt about go fast, turn left...Its about drafting, passing, maintaing speed, fastest line through the corners,etc.....Its fun when you get 12 other people on Talladega plus the AI....you forget its an oval after a minute.

Gary, the sound quality in Warhawk is very super dependent on you connection speed and if there is any packet loss, which will seriously affect VOIP. Tested this myself and found it to be true...

My ISP has hella lot of packet loss at times and when it does I can not understand anything said on the mic.....But my friend has DSL through Verizon and there is no packet loss and its clear as a bell, even when it comes through the tv.

If you are going to try Nascar it needs to be the full retail version and you need to use the Logitech G25 or Logitech Driving Force Pro....

It's one of those games that really needs a wheel.
