The PS3 is heading for it’s first year anniversary early next month, so I’m interested to know exactly what you have bought for your PS3.
This is what I’ve bought specifically for use my PS3:
TV
I bought this 40″1080p HDTV a couple of months after I got my PS3. I’m looking into getting Surround Sound for my TV at some point in the future.
Blu-ray games
For a console that has been criticised for it’s lack of software, I must have imagined all the games I’ve been playing on it.
Resistance: Fall of Man
MotorStorm (no longer have)
Oblivion
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (no longer have)
GRAW 2 (no longer have)
Heavenly Sword
Madden 08
Skate
FIFA 08
Then there’s Ratchet & Clank Future, CoD4, Haze, Assassins Creed and Uncharted all due out by the beginning of December…
PSN Games
Super Stardust HD
Blast Factor
Calling All Cars
flOw
Warhawk
Super Stardust HD is by far the most enjoyable game from the PSN. Excellent fun to play, with great music. Calling All Cars is a lot fun when you play with 2 or 3 friends, although I had a couple of offline games with my girlfriend, which she enjoyed.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Pain, SOCOM and LittleBigPlanet turn out.
Blu-ray Movies
Casino Royale (free with the PS3)
Spider-Man Trilogy
I haven’t bought many BD movies but one definite purchase that’s due out early November in the UK is Planet Earth. I’m planning on inviting some people round to watch it, as I’m sure it will look fantastic on my TV.
Peripherals
SIXAXIS
I’m prone to breaking my pads during particular moments of ‘gaming frustration’ so I made sure I bought a 2nd pad for both offline multi-player fun and as a back up for when I would break my first pad. I’m on my 2nd SIXAXIS pad.
I’ll probably get a DS3 next year when I break my 2nd SIXAXIS pad but until then, I doubt I’ll buy any more peripherals this year for my PS3.
So what have you guys bought for your PS3?

Excellent. It’s just a shame they released an upgraded model recently for a similar price.
I’ve been very happy with it apart from some clouding during very dark scenes.
#3 by Barandum on October 29th, 2007
thats true… but i found out that you can decrease this effect via saturation settings… just reduce the brackground light to 70% or even 60%. I have the “game mode” activated… do you see any difference in it? The color mgt. looks to me a bit better.
#4 by Gary on October 29th, 2007 [ 1770 Points ]
Yeah I also use game mode and have the background light quite low. It’s not a major problem though, it hasn’t effected my enjoyment of films or games.

Well, in great forsight, I got myself a 32” 720P display (Samsung LE32T51B)… Good for playing and watching tv (no match for my PC display however, a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW). In faster games (i.e. GT5P demo) you get a very ghosty pic though, but this tends to “hide” itself, as it looks a bit like motion blur^^
I got MS (still have it, but play it not very often), which is my only BD game (yet). But I got some PS2 games (bargains!! MGS3S, FFXII…).
BD movies, I have 300 (good buy I must say) and Casino Royale, which was free
I got MK2, Tekken and CaC (which I still regret, it was not nearly worth the 8€ I payed for it). I shared some games with a friend too (greets to Seph from Denmark). SSHD, Blastfactor and some of the Midway and PS1 games.
I will get GT5P, RnCF, Uncharted (most likely rental), MGS4 and GTA4 is already preordered. Singstar is a sure buy too, as well as Rockband (when it gets cheaper or less bundely (I only need a PS3 guitar and maybe the drums, Mics I have), because 200€ (this one will be THAT expensive in Germany!) is a bit too much)

I must confess that I haven’t bought any of the PSN games. All were shared from a friend. I did buy the Map Packs for Resistance though.

TV
Bought a 40″ 1366 x 768 (if im not mistaken that is 1080i) Sony Bravia S-Series a few months back. (Researched online and found that most people will not tell the difference in a 720p/1080i vs. 1080p until the television size is 50″ or more so I figured I would save a couple hundred)
Games
Resistance, Warhawk (BD), Motorstorm, VF5, College Hoops 2K7, Madden 07/08, Eye of Judgement (suprisingly awesome), Ratchet and Clank, Rainbow 6 Vegas, and Oblivion

Accessories
Extra Sixaxis controller, Memory card adapter, 512 memory stick for game save transportation to my friends house, Eye toy (got with Eye of Judgement)
#12 by Kin9Schmoo on October 29th, 2007

Plus about another 20 BD movies..Cars, Ratatouille, Pixar Shorts Collection, Most of Kubricks films, few more catalogue title haven’t caught up on and a few blockbusters like POC:At World’s End.
Another HDTV for the Den plus another PS3 to go with it and another Eye camera for the PS3. Plus another home theater system to actually hear everything on that new system.
5 or 6 SACD’s to start our SACD collection. DSOM and a few jazz titles
P.S. I’ve bought exactly 2 DVD’s since started watching Blu-ray. New releases are actually only about $5 difference from DVD in N.A. and catalogue titles try to get on sale or 2 for 1 deals.
P.P.S. What was that about no games for the PS3 again
. We haven’t finished all of them and we have a gang of folks in our house.
P.P.P.S. The reason we are getting another setup for the den is because of the conflict over the PS3 for games, movies and regular T.V shows. And we hate watching Standard Definition T.V shows since so much of our content is in HD now.
