The TimeShift thing seemed to be just while in the menu and picking friends list. I don't know about when you are actually in game. I'm happy to see a PSOne game in the mix, never played Wild Arms, I remember a friend bought that game and I bought Beyond the Beyond when PSX first launched those RPGs, the idea was to trade once we beat them, but both got side tracked with other released so I missed out the first time.
