Quality is vastly improved. Tried WMP11 and TVercity with transcoding set to off and haven't had a single file fail so far. Even has thumbnail shots of the videos now, where before it didn't. I know when 360 got Divx the quality went up substantially on playback natively from transcoding on the fly. I'd rather use my PS3 for all things media if possible.
