LittleBigPlanet “Confirmed for September”
According to C&VG, LittleBigPlanet won’t be out until the Autumn:
Sony has confirmed with us this morning that LittleBigPlanet will be out in September.
An autumn release date for the quirky PS3 game was hinted at yesterday, when producer Kyle Shubel spoke about the 2008 timeline for the title in a demonstration at CES in Las Vegas.
A LittleBigPlanet demo was expected toward the end of 2007 but failed to materialise. A rep from Sony UK had no further news on a release date for the demo at this time.

I am really looking forward to this game. However, I have to admit that the gameplay videos I’ve seen so far look underwhelming. The levels just don’t look fun to play. I hope that improves!

True true, the game looks amazingly cute and polished and I’m sure you’ll have much fun with it for a few hours or maybe a day, but i just don’t see any long term motivation!

Exactly, my sentiments from the beginning. It’s all cute and cuddly, but I don’t see a that addictive gameplay element. The real value would come from designing your own levels and playing other people’s levels, I am sure there will be a lot of creative levels. Mini games without necessarily of the platform type, could really bring some fresh air. (e.g. some simple basketball or soccer game where you go kicking things around to score)
