Now I'm just even more flabbergasted that EU PSN Store gets so little updates compared to the other regions

Thanks for clearing that up Darrin. I'll keep using VGchartz.com since they seem to be the best at what they do. Shame that there isn't a good source of sales info outside of N.A. and Japan. It's clear that without Europe, the PS3 would have never recovered.

Specter, I knew someone would get confused. Sony has already sold between 9-10 million PS3s to consumers, however many of those were before the 2007 fiscal year (starting 4/1/2007). The 8 million estimate refers to sales during fiscal 2007 only and it also refers to sales to dealers, not sales to end users.

I know they aren't perfect and are widely criticized, but vgchartz.com does the best estimate of worldwide sales. We also reprint and discuss monthly sales figures, but we don't have a good source for sales outside of North America and Japan.

8 Million by March? I was under the impression that more than 8m PS3s were sold by now. I guess none of the analysts go by VGchartz? I know some people claim that they futz with the numbers, but I don't know of any other site that's doing a better or even half the job of VG. Is there a reliable site for up to date worldwide console sales that isn't horribly biased? How do the Analysts know that the PS3 hasn't reached 8 million worldwide yet? They must be getting their numbers from somewhere.....

I'm not really interested in seeing NPD sales. This world is a lot bigger than the US and Canada. I'm looking for worldwide sale numbers for all three consoles that’s not cooked up from M$, Sony, or Nintendo camps. Anyone know of a good source?

The -ve must always be mentioned, otherwise you're a crappy writer. Unless you're talking about the 360 or Wii, of course.
