I see the glibc on ydl v6 is still 2.5, isn't the current glibc 2.7 or at least glibc 2.6. I don't think I want to downgrade because I'm on glibc 2.6 with fedora 7 and I've gone through all the trouble upgrading it so the sound works now anyway. Since ydl's glibc is still 2.5, I would think there will still be alot of compatibility problems trying to install newer programs, so I wouldn't bother.

If the console games get just a bit better, I'll be willing to buy another ps3 as main pc. At home I only use my pc for mail, internet and chat.

I can always use my wife's monster pc (Q6600, 4gig ram, GeForce 8800gtx) for when I start working on some work related projects (I'm a .net software developer)

Hmmm,

nice, that they updated much of the underlying stuff like GCC etc...

but, did they at least now include the UDF2.5 kernel patch, to be able to at least read BluRays? Is the Sixaxis support via bluetooth (also kernel patch necessary) or USB (which worked already in 5.1)

Gnash is a nice addition, as well as the codec installer (although I doubt, you can get the PS3 in Linux to play anything near HD).

They changed their sources too... The old one (5.1) was based on Fedora Core 5, which is quite old now (they are testing 8 now), now they use different ones and add newer Fedora ones too... Hopefully, we now get some good choice in programs now, without playing around with the repositories (which is quite a bitch in YDL, imho).
