I’m finding it really hard to get excited over a game that’s been delayed so many times. If it wasn’t for the pedigree of developers Free Radical Design (Timesplitters) then I would’ve stopped caring a long time ago.
Gamasutra are saying Haze is now due out May (that’s 2008 not 2009
) so I hope the extra work done on Haze has been worth it.
To be honest, I’m quite sick of FPS at this moment in time. I’ve played CoD4, HL2: The Orange Box and Resistance over the past 6 months and beyond and I’ve had my fill of FPS. It’s an over saturated genre anyway, so it’s going to be interesting to see if Haze can make the grade.

Yeah I’m skeptical too. I hope they’ve used the extra time to really polish up the gameplay.

They made – GoldenEye,Perfect Dark,TimeSplitters so i still want to play it. Sure it won’t be crap. Resistance was o.k. Didn’t blow me away tho.
+Hope it has Bots in the off-line 4player mode!!! ;-P

No doubt the devs have a great track record and well established credibility.
But there are just far too many shooters. What does this do that sets it apart?

Thing is that Haze introduces the drugs thingy that make people into non-caring-uber-soldiers-almost-invincible-to-all. But that part of the story reminds me of Far Cry 2, where you are some sort of uber soldier almost invincible to all, not because of some drug, but because of some armor suit.
I’m actually someone who likes his FPS as long as there is enough depth in the story. Given the record track of the developer, I’m gona give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I’ll definitly check it out, but I don’t know if it’ll be a buy.
