Paranoimia, you and a million other people.

Same thing with movies like Lord of the Rings or books like Harry Potter. I didn't think any of them was particularly special, but they were just the right product with the right publicity at the right time.

Also, part of the fun of playing Halo or reading Harry Potter, is because everyone else is doing it.

Mmm.... I dunno. I played Halo 3 last night at a friend's place, and I was again impressed by the wide array of features the game has. It's truly an accomplishment. Too bad it's not as fun to play as other games like CoD4.

In my personal opinion, they "one-upped" the entire Halo trilogy with the first Resistance. I had the first 2 games on my Xbox, and really came to dislike it. And this is from someone who bought the Xbox at launch specifically to play Halo!

I never have understood the hype those games have generated. For me, there are many better games out there. I preferred KZ1 on the PS2, and Black and Doom 3 on Xbox to any Halo game.

60-player multiplayer is a really lame feature list bullet point. If you take a Call of Duty/Warhawk/R6:V/UT3/TF2 type game and just crank the player count to 60, so what?

However, they talk like they are doing something really different with their multiplayer mode, which has piqued my interest. I'm definitely interested in seeing if they can deliver.
