IR2BT - InfraRed to BlueTooth Converter for the PS3

ir2bt.jpg

Finally, a real but expensive solution for the lack of infrared support in the PS3. This little device will translate infrared commands to BlueTooth for the PS3 to understand. Including the Power On and Off buttons! Only problem is, this thing costs $55. If anybody buys this thing, please post your comments.

InfraRed to BlueTooth Converter for the PS3

  1. Emrah Says:

This is so that universal remote controllers can control ps3? (most preferrably movie / music??)

  2. Paranoimia Says:

Pointless! If you’re going to spend that kind of money, just get an official PS3 BT remote.

  3. CortezTheKiller Says:

@Paranoimia - you miss the point completely. This is for those people with large/complex AV setups using an expensive single IR remote (e.g. Harmony). Many such people have been decrying the lack of IR on the PS3 since it was launched (and hopefully this will shut them up).
