PlayStation Store Scheduled for Downtime
The PlayStation Store will be unavailable for around 15hrs (if everything goes to plan 
) from April 14th, in readiness for the new and improved PS Store:
The PLAYSTATION®Network will be taken offline for a scheduled maintenance to our network during the following times:
Start: April 14, 2008, beginning at 8:00 a.m., Pacific Time
End: April 14, 2008, ending at 11:00 p.m., Pacific TimeDuring this time, the new PLAYSTATION®Store upgrade will be taking place. As a result access to the PLAYSTATION Network will be restricted, including:
* No access to the PLAYSTATION®Store
For information regarding the changes to the PLAYSTATION Store, please visit the PlayStation.Blog.
It is not anticipated that this will affect other PLAYSTATION Network services
Once the new PLAYSTATION Store upgrade is complete, a new system software version will be available for download. This new system software must be installed before you may access the PLAYSTATION Network.
The times are obviously North American but the other stores should also be unavailable around the same time. I’m looking forward to the new design and hopefully a lot more new content on a more regular basis.
I´m waiting for KZ2, and thats not out before feb 09 .. Now that is a loong wait

Apparently there’s also coming some bonus update along with the new PSN Store.
Some guy on IGN said that it wasn’t going to be HOME nor XMB related, however it would be up and competing with the likes of Xbox Live (i.e with Leaderboards etc etc).
If it’s true, I can’t wait for tomorrow

Can’t wait for this. The old store was clunky, difficult to navigate and slow - this is a welcome update for me at least.
This will mean the store will finally start being updated more regularly and I believe the launch will be almost concurrent with the launch of the Metal Gear Online Premiere Beta from April 17th, and I think there’ll be the newest GTA IV trailer in there, too.
