I think the PS3 can easily overtake the 360 this year. The 360 just doesn't have the global draw that sony has (only in Great Britain does the 360 do admirable numbers). I dont think it will be that tough, especially since the PS3 is neck in neck with the 360 in america, microsofts home turf. So, although gears 2 will cause a surge, sony's lineup this year is alot stronger.

Thanks RJCC.

According to vgchartz,

Hot Shots has 80K sales in US and 490K in Japan, LTD (includes April sales as well)
MLB '08 The Show has 210K sales in US, LTD.

Even on PS3, the 3D shooters, Army of Two and R6:V, are the big sellers.

Not to sound like a broken record but for the love of god they need to get the system down to $299.99

The sales are fine for what the price point is but it is preventing a lot of things from happening on the software side. Of course they don't seem to be doing much on software pricing either... why the hell is Resistance still $59.99 in most places? It's not like it's selling 50K a month, and they should want to introduce the franchise to more people for the benefit of the sequel.

They had the best review average for first party games last year but a lot of went nowhere due the hardware price, it would be a shame if that mistake was repeated this year.
