Somebody noticed something very interesting in a recent PSN video. Video downloads shown on the PlayStation Store. We knew this was coming, but maybe this is coming sooner than we think? It has options for NBC, HBO, the CW, Cartoon Network, MTV, and more. Some other things in the video are: “Click Start to Search”, “Click Square to Add to Cart”, “View Downloads”, and a Beta section.
But then again they showed the Home icon in PlayStation videos before and now that’s pushed back until November. So take this with a huge grain of salt.

At Playstation Day and in interviews as far back as GDC ‘07 they said they were working on video/audio downloads.
Around Playstation Day there was an interview were they were aiming for ‘Summer’ but at GDC ‘07 they said 4th quater so who knows.
We should hear about it at E3.
I wouldn’t put too much weight in that mock up screen from the commercial though. Considering they have Cartoon Network, HBO, NBC and A&E each twice.

It’s actually the PSN store bar, not a task bar. If you watch the commercial you can see it’s the same store we have on the PS3.

Just that image it’s hard to tell.

You can see that the toolbar has X, [], O and triangle as controls, so it’s PS3, not to mention it’s a PS3 commercial.
