I second Mike that such online procedures should not be approved by Sony.
If a company thinks PSN id is not enough for a particular reason, they should work with Sony to improve the system, not have an alternative system..

EA is doing something like this with the Bad Company demo on 360 (and presumably PS3 as well). Not a fan of it. The whole point of a single login name is to HAVE A SINGLE LOGIN NAME. Sony and Microsoft shouldn’t tolerate this but I doubt they want to piss off EA/Konami by telling them “no.”

It’s money. You must pay for extra names on the same PS3. I’m sure that will also apply to map packs. You will not be able to play a map unless You pay for it (each user). Konami sucks.

I went online last night and got MGO working. It was a hassle and a half to get the ID figured out, but once done it was OK. I had an account previously but had to reset the password, and had forgot about the numeric requirement. Not the most user friendly system.

I always hated Konami’s online policies.. PSN ID should be enough, no? What exactly is wrong when we can play COD4, Burnout, Resistance without having to do a single extra thing? What do Konami know that these don’t?

IMHO, Konami is plain stupid.. Not the development teams of course, but the publisher side.

I also downloaded the MGO beta, and got my IDs then… after much frustration due to server overload. I never actually got around to playing the beta, but I’m glad I went through the process of getting the ID, because it saved a lot of time when the game was finally released.

But yes, the whole ‘Konami ID’ and ‘Game ID’ thing is utterly stupid. Why the PSN ID can’t be used as it is by everyone else is beyond me… it’s already a unique ID, and having to create another is ludicrous and unnecessary.

i was part of the [EDITED FOR CONTENT] that was the mgo beta. why 2 IDs though? didn’t we create a PS ID already? isn’t that what its for? stupid. will start playing online when i finish the single player. i hope its good but i can see myself going back to COD4 soon though.
