liked the review. reviews without scores are always good. i throughly enjoyed the game too except for the ridiculous ID system for MGO... defo agree with the play mechanics being fun but maybe changing too quickly. eatch act does have its own unique feel though which i really enjoyed. would of been nice to have an act select when you finish the game though.

p.s. snake is at the pinnacle of style dude ;)

I finished Act 2 last night. Metal Gear is holding value pretty good, I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Some of the characters are pretty cheesy but at least they are high-def cheese, and there is a big fun factor. I like how if you get tired of the sneaking you can swap in a rocket launcher and just go for it, thats how I got rid of the annoying laughing boss.

Good point: as ridiculous as Snake looks, he's still a much more entertaining character to play as than all those other game heroes you mentioned.

Did you ever notice, that every time Snake tries to take a smoke in the game, he get's distracted AND that always a "no smoking" sign is visible^^ I love it

And about the glutes and mullet... Would rather have a Marcus Fenix "bald space marine"? I sure don't... Snake is MUCH MORE iconic... especially his mustache... Remember the last mustachioed game protagonist?

It's just... he is MUCH more iconic than any other gaming character to date... (well Gordon Freeman is too, but he doesn't say shit, so nobody really cares about him anyhow) It's either a "nobody" (Nathan Drake), space marine (Master Chief or Fenix) or "you" (Bioshock, Half Life etc...). Snake doesn't fit ANY of these clichés, and that's what's great about Metal Gear.

I know the mullet/bandana/cigarettes are his trademark. I've played all the MGS games. I just think it looks ridiculous. And of course they are trying to make him look cool, that's what video game characters are supposed to do.

I'm used to it now, the game is absolutely awesome, just wanted to poke some deserved fun at Snake.

I agree with most of what you said, but out of style? I dont think the designers were trying to make snake look 'fasionable', snake has always had the mullet, bandana, and has always smoked. It's been like that in every game, why would they change it?
