Probably right about that. I would imagine MS wouldn't have put a "Only On 360" on the cover if they knew a PS3 version was in the works.

Did he lie? If he knew the PS3 version was coming or even possible, then he was lying, flat out.

However, it is possible at that point the PS3 version had not even been considered.

Let's not condemn the man as a liar without knowing all the facts first! As it is, we know not either way.

I'll probably buy it.

But I agree with Segitz. I think Virtua Fighter 5 and to a lesser extent UTIII cannibalized their own sales by announcing a port way too soon. Any potential buyers that were looking at the system for these games specifically knew they could wait for a probably better more polished version. By the time the games hit the other consoles hype and interest waned.

Bioshock on PS3 will probably do decent, nothing stellar but one advantage of the year wait was UE3 isn't crippled on PS3 anymore since UT3

It is a bit too late for bioshock to sell well on PS3, and poor sales will result in future crappy ports, or no products at all. Bioshock on PS3 should not cost more than 35usd.

Yeah, that way, they didn't pull a Virtua Fighter 5... When Sega announced (before the PS3 version hit), that a 360 version was in the works, they effectively slaughtered their PS3 sales...

But when Bioshock PS3 hits, I hope, they don't want anything near full price, because if so, the game will not sell, especially not when other heavy hitters are coming near it like Resistance 2 or Little Big Planet.

Considering that he isn't even developing the sequel I wonder if control of the franchise is even in his hands at this point. You're probably right about him having to downplay a potential PS3 version though. It has the "Only on Xbox 360 and Windows" logo. Exclusivity labels are pretty much meaningless these days if it isn't a first party game.
