Quiet 2008 E3 for Sony? |

I’ve been thinking about it, and you know what? I don’t think there will be any major revelations for the Sony camp at E3 this year. They’ll talk about Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and other sundry games that have already been announced.

They’ll probably talk about their new video download service. Tosh reminded me about that one. But that’s not new, it just hasn’t been officially unveiled yet. Sony has already said that something would happen this summer.

Home? It’s been talked about so much, that I don’t think there’s really much to reveal. Unless they’ve added something new to the service that makes it more compelling for gamers. (Which I think it needs.)

So nope, I don’t think we have much to get excited about at this year’s E3. But that’s just me. I may be way off base here. Have you guys heard anything I haven’t?

No, it’s not going to be quiet at all. Sony has several exclusives that we still know nothing about that they can easily bring up during their event. They could easily talk about more features to be included in future FM updates, and i think Home is going to be awesome when it’s fully completed. Sony always has some kind of trick to pull and they have learned from past mistakes (they better have). My own personal opinion is that they will satisfy most people this time around ( you can’t please everybody).

If you are right, E3 will be a big disappointment.

Games like Resistance 2 and LBP look awesome, but they won’t be surprises. I’m expecting real surprises. Last year, they had lots of surprises that no one saw coming, and I’m expecting something close to that. I don’t know what the surprises are, but I just think it’s a safe bet that they will have some.

Specifically, it’s safe to expect that they will show us new games we haven’t seen before and show us first footage of games that we barely have heard about. I also want to see something else: slimmer PS3? maybe a hobbyist development program?
