Excellent insight about the brain power required. These types of games are a huge time investment, even more so than a jRPG like FF XII. I've played games like this and even a game like La Pucelle sucked untold hours our of my life. Overall the games are enjoyable if you have the time. And these do burn up time. Not unlike pixeljunk monsters which is currently sucking up at least an hour a night. I'm trying to get all rainbows on all levels.
This genre of games is one that every games player should try at least once to find out if it is your bag. Some people really like the challenge and these games will challenge you. On the graphics side from what I've seen I'm somewhat disappointed that they went the sprite route. They could have gone the Streetfighter HD route and redone the animation in an anime style but it looks like they just recycled the sprites from the PS2 version. I'm hard pressed to see a difference.
But the strategy seems to be there.
My friend and I talk about this game a lot but we're undecided about picking it up. With so many games coming out in the next little while that are first day must haves. LBP, Gears 2, Resitance2 there's just not enough time or money to go around. Fallout 3 should take up most of my Fall.
But I eventually will pick it up for my PS3.t is a time suck but it can be picked up after a time away.
