“No Leveling Up” is a killer for me. I love playing online, but I need to feel like I am working towards something. Weather it is unlocking weapons, abilities, or even something as trite as new costumes. With out leveling up, I quickly get board. I kind of feel like “OK, I shot some guys. So what’s next? Shoot more guys?” It takes away from the over all experience

I was looking forward to playing this co-op campaign with Henning quite a bit, especially after we were forced to give up on Resistance 2. (Bargle!) Unfortunately we only had an hour or so before going to the movie, so we didn't get very far. By the end of the hour I was getting better at identifying enemies - that was definitely the trickiest part of this game so far. Really the only clue you have is whether they're shooting at you or not. If they're not shooting directly at you, you have almost no idea. You do get the red cross-hair if you are aiming directly at someone, so that's what I was working on using as my primary friend-or-foe indication. It can be easy to miss, though, if your enemy is moving and relatively far away, because your cross-hair will blink red only very briefly. With my cautious approach to battles, the enemies tended to be far away most of the time.

I died a lot.

Fortunately Henning was usually able to revive me. He died a lot too, and I could usually get to him before he finished expiring, but if he was in the middle of a hot battle, I would get killed in the process too. Fortunately checkpoints appeared to be adequately distributed, although I couldn't tell when we had passed one until we both died and returned to it.

The gameplay was quite enjoyable, right up there with the previous CoD releases, and the main issue I had other than getting killed and not being able to identify enemies easily (realistic, I guess) was not being able to find a lot of spare ammo on the field amongst the dead bodies. Henning said you could pick it up automatically just walking over a dead body, but I never saw that actually occur to my character. It was easy enough to swap an empty weapon for someone else's full one, though, so in practice I didn't actually run out of ammo.

I'm looking forward to getting a chance to play this campaign some more, that's for sure!
